In an effort to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 among student-athletes and athletics personnel (including coaches, equipment managers, etc.), as student-athletes return to campus to participate in individual workouts, group/team activities, and team competitions; the Navajo Technical University Athletics Department has established the following re-entry plan for intercollegiate athletics: Athletic Department Re-Entry Plan
NTU Wellness Center is very concerned with the health, safety and well-being of the students and staff. For this reason the wellness center will reopen with limited usage. The center is following the guidelines of the CDC- Center for Disease Control and Prevention, New Mexico Health Department, ACHA – American College Health Association, and the Navajo Nation Executive Orders:

Navajo Technical University believes that a sound program of athletic activities can provide valuable opportunities for developing physical fitness and overall qualities of character and leadership. The athletic program seeks to enhance our athletes through education and competition that will stimulate a lasting positive attitude of discipline, dedication, sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership.
We believe students have a tremendous opportunity to participate in intercollegiate sports and are here to support and help our students achieve their academic and athletics goals.
Navajo Tech is a member of the U.S. Collegiate Athletics Association (USCAA), the U.S. Collegiate Archery Association (USCA), the the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA).
Sports in which NTU fields teams for men and women include Archery, Cross-country, Rodeo and Track. Winning is the goals as teams participate in United States Collegiate Archery Association (USCA), United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). These teams excel in their respective national associations. NTU Athletes must follow their sport Association rules as well. Tryouts for the men's and women's team and student athlete forms can be found on will be in listed on the college website under athletics.
NTU Club teams have goals to compete at the highest level until we can join a conference. Winning teams have become a tradition at NTU in both men’s and women’s sports. Community support for Club Teams at NTU has been outstanding. The caliber of coaching, the quality of uniforms and equipment, the training and medical facilities, and the opportunity to play against good competition are superior. NTU Club Teams aspire to the highest level of intercollegiate competition, sportsmanship and academic excellence through the University mission.
All Intramural Sports are open to current NTU Students and Faculty/Staff only and must be attending the current semester.

Eligibility for Wellness Program:
The Wellness Department at NTU includes the (for students, faculty & staff, and community).We strive to support the NTU community with access to wellness related programs, and to provide facilities for fitness activities. Youth under 16 years old age must have a parent/guardian with them in the Wellness Center. Everyone in the Wellness Center must sign in and out each day. Use of the NTU Wellness Center requires enrollment in the Wellness Program and follow the Wellness Center Rules and Policies.
Wellness Programs which is non-competitive sports
Walking for You (W4U)
This cardio program is based for an individual to walk, jog, run, or cycle at their own pace. To complete this program an individual needs to complete 30 hours of cardio exercise. When the program is complete an individual will get a certificate of completion.
Strength Training for You (ST4U)
This strength program is based for an individual to working out lifting weights at their own pace. To complete this program an individual needs to complete 30 hours of work outs. When the program is completed an individual will get a certificate of completion.
