In an effort to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 among student-athletes and athletics personnel (including coaches, equipment managers, etc.), as student-athletes return to campus to participate in individual workouts, group/team activities, and team competitions; the Navajo Technical University Athletics Department has established the following re-entry plan for intercollegiate athletics: Athletic Department Re-Entry Plan
NTU Wellness Center is very concerned with the health, safety and well-being of the students and staff. For this reason the wellness center will reopen with limited usage. The center is following the guidelines of the CDC- Center for Disease Control and Prevention, New Mexico Health Department, ACHA – American College Health Association, and the Navajo Nation Executive Orders:

Navajo Tech is a member of the U.S. Collegiate Athletics Association (USCAA), the U.S. Collegiate Archery Association (USCA), the the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA).
The NTU Co-ed Cross Country team is a part of U.S. Collegiate Athletics Association (USCAA). Winning competitions has always been a part of Navajo Tech and the cross country team is no exception. Student athletes are able to train on some of the best trails around campus and the surrounding Crownpoint community. Past NTU Skyhawk runners were able to travel from local collegiate races all the way into places like New York for national competitions.

NTU’s rodeo program is a member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). The rodeo sports program provides students with the opportunity to embrace New Mexico’s rugged landscape and compete in various rodeo competitions. Student athletes learn to work as one team with their livestock and team members to represent Navajo Technical University with their dedication and horsemanship skills.

NTU’s Co-ed Volleyball teams are part of the intramural sports programs at Navajo Tech. Student athletes participate in the annual AIHEC volleyball competitions nationally with other tribal colleges across the United States. This past March, the volleyball team took first place at the latest AIHEC volleyball tournament and walked away with the championship title.

The Women's Basketball team is part of the USCAA (small colleges) (https://www.theuscaa.com/landing/index). These student athletes are dedicated and committed to compete at the collegiate year level and live an active lifestyle. The Collegiate program at NTU strives to provide students a positive platform to play college basketball while receiving a strong education to meet the country's workforce demands. Each year the team plans to compete in the USCAA National Tourney in Richmond, VA.
