Greetings and good morning NTU,
We are tired and glad to be back in the 505. The NTU Archery team travelled to Clinton, MS for the 2018 U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championship (Outdoor Nationals) hosted by Mississippi College. I am proud say the team competed strongly and showed resilience throughout the competition under extreme heat and humidity. We came away with 2 Silver medals and 1 All-American medal.

The Basic Bow Men's Team of Seth Dennison, Maverick Ruballos and Keanu Jones fell short in the Gold medal match (0-6) against #2 University of Pikeville (KY). One the road to the finals, Team NTU outshot William Carey University (5-4) and knocked-off #1 ranked Kentucky Christian University (6-0) to set-up gold medal match the next day.

In the Basic Bow Men's Individual matches, Keanu Jones fell to A. Blackburn from University of Pikeville in the Gold medal match. Mr. Jones bested C. Hall (Blue Mountain College) and T. Cahall (Hockings College) to reach the Gold medal match. Finally, Mr. Jones was awarded All-American in Men's Basic Bow during the closing banquet.

Overall, a successful trip and the student-athletes competed well to continue NTU Archery's name recognition in collegiate archery world. This was one of the best teams I have coached and fielded at the USIAC's. Now, I want to sleep and rest.
